Introduction – 성수 대성집 버섯 닭갈비
Daesungjip is one of the most popular local restaurants near Seongsu Station, famous for its Mushroom Jumuluk (Spicy Dakgalbi with Mushrooms).
Although the name includes “Mushroom,” the main ingredient is actually seasoned chicken cooked together with plenty of fresh mushrooms. The mushrooms absorb the rich spicy sauce while the chicken becomes tender and juicy, creating one of Seongsu’s signature local dishe
The restaurant has been loved by locals for many years and is especially busy during lunch and dinner hours.

Mushroom Jumuluk
Mushroom Jumuluk is Daesungjip’s signature dish.
Fresh chicken is stir-fried with plenty of mushrooms in a rich Korean spicy sauce. As the chicken cooks, the mushrooms soak up all the delicious flavors while remaining juicy.
Although many Koreans enjoy the spice, some international visitors may find it hotter than expected.
Complimentary Seafood Pancake
Every table receives a complimentary seafood pancake.
Unlike ordinary side dishes, this pancake is freshly cooked with a crispy outside and soft inside.
It pairs perfectly with the spicy Mushroom Jumuluk and is one of my favorite parts of the meal.
Cold Vegetable Broth
A refreshing cold vegetable broth is served before the meal.
It helps cool your mouth before eating the spicy chicken and refreshes your palate throughout the meal.
Makguksu
Makguksu is another popular menu.
The cold buckwheat noodles perfectly balance the spicy Mushroom Jumuluk and make a great side dish for sharing.
Fried Rice
Don’t leave without ordering fried rice.
The staff stir-fries rice directly in the remaining spicy sauce, creating one of the most satisfying finishes to the meal.
Makgeolli Recommendation
Daesungjip also serves traditional Korean Makgeolli.
Unlike many restaurants that simply serve bottled Makgeolli, Daesungjip serves it in a traditional stainless steel bowl, creating a more authentic Korean dining experience.

This combination is ideal for most international visitors because the pork cutlet balances the spicy Mushroom Jumuluk, while the Makgeolli pairs perfectly with both the chicken and the complimentary seafood pancake.
Personally, I usually order three servings of Mushroom Jumuluk, but I think this combination is the best choice for first-time visitors.
Fried Chicken
Daesungjip also serves fried chicken.
While the chicken is good, I don’t recommend visiting this restaurant specifically for it.
The Mushroom Jumuluk is the real reason locals keep coming back.
